It happened around 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, on Route 8 in Shelton.
When responders arrived on the scene they found the crash which spanned more than 1,000 feet, according to the Shelton Fire Department.
One vehicle was found in the woods with significant rear-end damage, one was on the side of the road, and another was located about 300 feet on its roof, the department said.
The final vehicle was found several hundred feet up the highway with minor damage.
All occupants were out of their vehicles upon arrival.
Echo Hose Ambulance evaluated all occupants and transported just one to a local trauma facility with non-life-threatening injuries.
The fire department cleaned up the fluids from vehicles and assisted EMS with scene protection.
Once EMS cleared and the wreckers removed all of the vehicles, the department was able to reopen the highway.
